Questions to expect during your F1 visa interview.
Getting an F1 visa for foreign students is not easy. First, you need to persuade the government to grant you the visa satisfactorily without sounding fishy by any means to get into a good college or university program that you have always wanted. Here are the questions that you must prepare for the interview.
Your studies.
Usually, the interview starts easily with questions related to your academic background and your educational plans for the future. These are usually the questions that you would see on an admission form, like the name of your past school, your current qualifications, and so on. However, have a detailed argument prepared for why you wish to pursue higher studies instead of working, and if you wish to do it, why do you want to do it in Canada itself.
Your university.
To dive deeper into your plans, they may ask you about your choice of university and what do you like so much about that university in particular. They do it to check how much you care about studying there are make sure to name only the best universities on your list to get on a good start. Make sure to also name your secondary options and list down a few of their strong points that excite you both in academics and curriculum-wise.
Your grades.
Next, be prepared to show your capabilities as a student to earn you that visa for sure. From your past grades, any achievements academically or otherwise, any hobbies that you would like to pursue to your current GPA, make sure to let them know about everything in detail. If your grades are not that high, make sure to complement them by showing how hardworking and motivated you are as a student. The aim of the interview is not to appear intelligent but to look capable. So have a positive outlook and do your best.
Your finances.
This is the most important part of your interview and, arguably, the part where things are a little complicated. You will be granted the student visa only if you have the missions to fund your education in Canada. The cost of education is higher in Canada than in most other countries. You have to have a proper financial plan for your tuition fees and your cost of living, transport, and other amenities. Give them all the relevant information and have all the necessary documents ready to back up your argument.
Higher studies.
Towards the end of the interview, you would be asked whether you plan to stay there for higher studies once you have completed the course you are applying for or if you wish to come back or even start working. Let them know if you wish to continue with your higher studies there, as it would help you later on in the extension of your student visa. Make all your plans very clear.
Thus, when you are prepared for your Visa Interviews, you will be more confident and answer all questions perfectly.
